Twenty-five residents of Caye Caulker Village will now be better able to provide for their families after completing diversification training through the Ministry of the Blue Economy and the island's branch of the Belize Tourism Industry Association. The capacity-building training dubbed "utilizing island resources for sustainable Caye Caulker livelihoods" provided the participants with skills in the production of sea salt and seaweed cultivation. Minister Andre Perez spoke to our newsroom about the project and its importance. The project came at a total cost of 25,000 US Dollars that was provided by the Taiwanese Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade, and Immigration.
