SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO

SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 05:54 AM

//AmbergrisCaye.com/pics.html

they are big so you can see them better, but they take awhile to load.

I'm not going to leave them up forever, cause tourism is the engine of the Belize economy, and bad publicity is bad medicine.

But you people here love Belize, and you have a right and a need to see them now.

Marty, I didn't see anything there in the pictures that should scare off the tourists. The areas look much better than I anticipated.Looks like most places held up well, just mostly a lot of debris. Thanks for sharing them! God bless, June

Thanx for the pics - things look much better than I expected. There may be some roof damage but most of the structures look pretty good.

Re: SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 01:38 PM

Thanks Marty.

The sailboat in the one picture. Do you know its name?

We got a call from Mike Carpenter last nite, he was able to call from a cell phone off the top of a building. Family okay but they lost the "SV Messenger", their sailboat, to the storm. That was their home. Could that sailboat in the picture been the "Messenger" by some chance.? Th picture with the mini-van in it.?
Anything would help.
Thanks again.
pc
He said the Canadian electric guys were working and had restored the electricity to their hotel.
They hope to be evacuated out this weekend.

Re: SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 02:09 PM

Thanks Marty,
I am a long time friend and part time resident of S.P.and I do have a house there...This is much worse than what I thought! Could only download page 2, so I can imagine what the back of the island looks like! Where can we send donations?
PS. I had a smile on my face when I saw my boat still sitting where I left it!
Again, Gracias amigo!

Re: SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 02:24 PM

JP I don't think you were on page 2. Page one has "Page 2" at the top to click and go to page 2. There are no boats in the pictures of page 2.

Re: SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 02:40 PM

Kathy, I am definitely on page two as stated.
Only able to download two pics....

Re: SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 02:49 PM

JP, I agree. I just looked at all pics again and there are no boats on page 2. Top of page 2 says "back to page 1". There is a boat in the background on page 1. Try again and click where it says "Page 2". Good luck.

Re: SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 03:01 PM

Belize mama,
Page one, page two, I do not know! All I know is that when I try to download the pics from site, it opens at page two, first pics shows the old Milo's store, John's house to the right and I see my boat still in Milo's Yard. Are you able to download the first 4 pics on page one? Thanks!

Re: SEVEN PICS OF SAN PEDRO - 10/05/00 03:06 PM

Okay JP. It is opening to page one. It says page 2 at the top but that is really a link to page 2. If you double click on where is says page2, it will take you to page 2. See what I am saying? Try it. [Linked Image]

May I have permission to publish your shots in a news report on Fishbelly.com and in my upcoming guidebook?

Heart wrenching but better than I imagined. Amazed to see one of the beachfront cabanas at Ramon's still standing and roofed! Thanks.
