Inland - 10/02/00 01:33 AM

Having just spoken to MET and "Radio Rick" I can confirm that inland is having no trouble at this time. Approx. 1 1/2 inches rain has fallen so far (although more is surely expected.) Winds are no problem there either. However, San Pedro, Caye Caulker and other villages in the North are surely being hammered by this storm, especially since it remains almost stationary. The good news is that the storm is showing signs of weakening. Please keep our Belizean brothers & sisters in your prayers.

Glad to hear that everything appears fine in Cayo. My wife's mother lives in Santa Elena but we are worried about her brothers who are in San Pedro and Corozal. Any word on the health or well being of Levi Figueroa in Corozal or Lisando Figueroa in San Pedro would be very much appreciated. My wife is talking with her mother in Santa Elena as I type this message and she has not heard from her sons. We are praying for all that are having to endure this storm but there is not much we can do from Canada but see what unfolds.
