No Phones, no contact - 10/02/00 07:13 AM

Its gonna be tomorrow I think before we reestablish contact with folks on the island.

I recommend we get some rest, and see how it looks in a few hours.

I'll be here if something comes up...

Have family in San Pedro, thank you for your updates. We have forwarded this site to rest of family in Canada. Your info is the only real time info we can get here.

We all wish we could do more. Its such a helpless feeling, if I don't work I cry....

I want that son of a bitch to fly outta here. I want that big bubble of air keeping the gulf clear to POP and go bye bye. We've had more than our share of this one.

that is one strong bubble of air in the Gulf.

Cumulative wind distribution.
This display shows how the size of the storm has changed, and the areas affected so far by tropical storm and hurricane force winds, in orange and red, respectively. It is based on information contained in the set of advisories indicated in the caption at the top of the figure. Note that the display is based on estimated coverage of one-minute average winds, not gusts.

this sounds amazing...
RECENT REPORTS
INDICATE THAT STRONG NORTHERLY WINDS HAVE EMPTIED THE BAY OF
CHETUMAL AND PEOPLE HAVE BEEN WALKING ACROSS THE BAY. THIS IS AN
EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE THE BAY WATER CAN RAPIDLY
RETURN AND FLOOD THE ENTIRE BAY AND SURROUNDING AREAS IN VERY SHORT
NOTICE.

Hi Marty

thanks for the continuous updates. very helpful for those of us who have loved ones in SP. Can you please tell us anything about the medical students at St. Matthews School of Medicine. Are they all in one location and have they been accounted for. It is so frustrating right now. I cant do anything right now except think about all those people in Central America who have been affected by this storm. please continue those updates.

thanks

ahmad

Re: No Phones, no contact - 10/02/00 11:54 AM

Marty, I have gotten more info. from you on SP than anywhere. My daughter and son-in-law are there. Bill and Michelle Zachry. He is a med student, I talked to them Mon. morning before the phones were down. They are staying at Zanadue, the dome buildings, does anyone know how these buildings fared? I hope to hear from some ham oper. this morning. Again thanks for the information. Camellia
