The winds are getting much stronger in Corozal town, but oddly, at this hour there is NO rain and hasn't been for hours. As the wind gets stronger we could lose power at any time, so I'd like to thank Marty and the participants on this forum for all the good information.
Corozal.com will stay on the air since the server is actually in California, but its administrators are here in Corozal Town, so if we are offline it won't change for a while. We'll have lots of photos after Keith leaves.

There are serious downpours happening still about 75 miles south of you. Up to 40 inches have been reported. Belize City is reported at 4 to 5 feet standing water. Since Keith has not moved, you are still in the grace zone.

And we are very grateful for that "grace zone" ... but our hearts do go out to those who have been absorbing Keith's fury. My comments were more directed to ease the minds of those concerned about relatives in and around Corozal Town. Thanks for the wakeup call ...

3am EST report has Keith at 65mph and a tropical storm moving NNW towards Corozal with the center being near there right now. That probably explains your wind increase. That track is forecast to be continued by the weather service, but they were saying that 24 hours ago. Any further lingering will only exacerbate flooding.
The winds should continue to decrease.
