Although we haven't heard from NEMO yet, international weather sites are warning for flashfloods...

This weather confuses me. The Tropical storm is south of us and moving north west. All morning we have had periodic downpours coming from the east north east with very stong winds. Then dead calm periods. Who can explain this?

When you look at the satellite picture, you will notice that the storm is circling around a center just like a hurricane (only not fast enough to be one). Storm rotates counter clockwise in the Northern hemisphere, so when we are to the North West of the storm, our winds are coming from the North East. The center of the storm moves West. At your service.
