Cruise Tourism brought some excitement and high expectations of ecomomic opportunities for the residents of Dangriga yesterday, whwn over a hundred tourists visited a couple of attractive sites here in this municipality, who were also entertained by the locals. the tourists visited Gulisi Museum and Wyner island, where a number of vendors set up shops with their local products, prepared with the hope that the tourists would have bought their products, Reports are that a number of tourists enjoyed their short stay in Dangriga, but on the other hand, the local vendors and taxi operators complained that they made little or no money from the venture, in spite of the extra effort and resorces they put into yesterday's activity. But Councilor Gwen Gentle from the Dangriga Town Council, who assisted in organizing yesterday's event, told Plus News that she understood the locals' plight, and that the intention of Cruse Tourism coming to Dangriga was to create economic opportunities for thr residents. She concluded by saying there were some issues that were beyond their control, and she encouraged the locals to remain hopeful, because this is the first of a series, and that another set of tourists will be visiting Dangriga next Monday, and every Monday after, for the next five weeks
