A Water Spout in Dangriga - 12/08/18 12:05 PM
A waterspout is a column of cloud-filled wind rotating over a body of water. Local meteorologists have said water spouts occur quite often along our coastal waters several times during the year. After four this afternoon, a water spout was visible off the coast of Dangriga. The clouds from which they descend are not fast-moving, so fair-weather waterspouts are often static. These particular waterspouts are associated with developing storm systems, but not storms themselves. Fair weather waterspouts form in light wind conditions so they normally move very little.
