“Groundbreaking for the launch of the rehabilitation project of the Maskall Community Center was done this morning. The project is estimated at $176,000.00 which is a joint venture with the Government of Belize and Social Investment Fund. Area Representative for Belize Rural North Edmund Castro says the center will be retrofitted with four unit bathroom facility, kitchen area and improvement made to the roofing, walls, windows and doors. It is estimated that the project will be completed in four months and will benefit over 1,000 residents of Maskall and neighbouring villages. Residents say it is a long awaited endeavour and look forward to helping with the labour to get the project completed. While the community building will bring a sense of pride it will equally serve to provide security in times of disaster.”
