Notice from Corozal Community Hospital/Corozal Polyclinic II - 08/27/21 10:15 AM

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

The management of the Corozal Community Hospital would like to inform the public that in light of the increase of COVID-19 cases in our district, it has become necessary to implement certain measures to ensure the safety of our health workers, inpatients and public who need to access the service of our institution. The below listed actions will be effective August 30, 2021.

1. Visiting hours will now be daily from Ilam to 12pm and 5pm to 6pm. Each patient will be allowed one visitor only. We ask that the visitor be over 18 years of age, consistent and not changing daily. If any patient is in critical condition or admitted to matemity ward where permanent presence of family caregiver is requested, we will ask that a 12hour shift be coordinated to be relieved 7am/7pm and both caregiver will be swabbed for Covid-19 virus detection as part of our new protocol.

2. All patients visiting the polyclinics will be asked to wash or sanitize their hands before and after entering the building.

3. We ask that children not be brought to the hospital or clinic unless it's for medical consultation of same.

4. All patients who suffer from non-communicable disease such as diabetics, hypertension, asthma, etc. are encouraged to take their medications as prescribed and practice healthy lifestyles.

5. Rapid Testing for travellers and employment purposes will be discontinued as to avoid having transmission from covid to non-covid patients. Testing needed for traveling or employment purposes (Rapid Testing Only), can be done at private labs in your area. Covid-19 testing for symptomatic patients and close contact of positives cases continues.

6. Any death that occurs outside of Government Health Institutions will require both Rapid and PCR post-mortem Covid swabs to be done. A NEGATIVE PCR result is required before a death certificate can be issued.

We are discouraging the public from making any unnecessary visits to the hospital or polyclinic and to respect the measures that have been put in place. These are all essential to keeping the public, our patients and our staff safe. We ask that you please adhere to the recommendations given by MOHW of social distancing and personal hygiene measures. The severity with which this pandemic impacts our community is literally in your hands and dependent on your discipline as a society. We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
