Belize to host First Climate Forum of Central America

The National Meteorological Service of Belize and the Central American Committee of Hydrological Resources are organising the first Climate Forum of Central America for the year 2006 in Belize City.

The Forum starts at 2:00 P.M. on April 18 and runs thru to April 21 2006, at the Princess Hotel.

The Forum will have the participation of 34 meteorologists, hydrologists and several other regional experts in climate and water resources from Central America and Mexico.

The general objectives of the forum are to review and validate the Climate Outlook, review and analyse global and regional climate models and projections for the start of the Rainy Season, prepare the Central America climate Outlook for May, June, July and August, 2006 and present the results to the media and the user community in all seven countries of Central America and southern Mexico via press conferences and teleconferences.
