THE COASTAL ZONE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY AND INSTITUTE TO HOST COASTAL AWARENESS WEEK 2014

What: The Coastal Zone Management Authority and Institute (CZMAI) will be hosting Coastal Awareness Week 2014 under the theme, "Planned Development Today for a Sustainable Coast Tomorrow" to be held September 29th 2014 to October 3rd 2014. CZMAI would like to extend a cordial invitation to you for your attendance and coverage of our official opening ceremony as well as the activities listed in our schedule of events.

Where: Official opening at the Radisson Hotel & Marina, Santa Rita room.

When: 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 29th, 2014

The goals of this week-long activity are:

1) To build on current efforts further strengthen partnership between marine resource managers and developers, and

2) To increase public awareness of the coordinating and research role of CZMAI in coastal and marine resources management


The schedule of activities being planned for Coastal Awareness Week 2014 includes:

Day 1 Monday September 29th 2014- Official Opening/ Launch of the State of the Coastal Zone Report - Radisson Hotel 2:00 p.m.

Day 2 Tuesday September 30th 2014- Belize Coastal Awareness trivia Challenge for Primary School Students - Bird's Isle, 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Day 3 Wednesday October 1st 2014- Seminar on Sustainable Coastal Development in Belize - CZMAI Training Room

Day 4 Thursday October 2nd 2014- Run for the Coast - BTL Park/Marine Parade, 5:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Day 5 Friday October 3rd 2014 Coastal Awareness Week movie Night/Video Competition showcase - Memorial Park, 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
