FRS two-way radios - 02/28/02 11:14 PM

We are planning a trip to Belize in April with a large group. We usually communicate with each other using the FRS walkie-talkie radios that are widely distributed here in the U.S.

I saw a paragraph in the instructions indicating that it may not be legal to use these radios outside the U.S. and that they may be confiscated by customs upon entry to
other countries as the frequencies may interfere with emergency service frequencies inn that country.

Does anyone know if these walkie-talkies are permitted in Belize?

We just returned from a trip to A.C. and used FRS radios. There was no problem. We mainly used them to communicate with the girls at Coconuts (Ada & Margie). It worked great, we could order drinks on our way to the bar, and they could reach us to pass on messages. Have a good trip!
