I have been considering coming to San Pero in July of this year. Can anyone direct me to a site that has a detailed map of Ambergris Caye, etc. Please advise, Thanks.

Teq - Did you look at all the maps available on this site? //AmbergrisCaye.com/pages/town/facts.html
Somewhere I found a downloadable biggee map of AC - I thought it was on this site but I can't find it now. It was similar to the Ordnance Survey Map.

There is an Ordnance Survey map of Ambergris Cay, 1:50,000, sold in San Pedro that has a zoom in view of San Pedro - but San Pedro is only three roads deep by five lanes across with one main road south to north. I don't find that much more detail on my map than is already available on this site in some map.
Belize it!

Hey margarita, thanks. I don't know how I missed that link. You can see why I am looking for a map. Have a good day!

In terms of paper maps, there is the Ordnance Survey map (1:50,000-scale) done in the early 90s. We sell it (for US$14) but candidly I don't think it's that useful, and in any case it is badly out of date.

About the best map to the island is Savanna's Bohemian Map, a hand-drawn map with advertising, but it was done in 1995 and I don't think it's ever been updated. You can buy it on the island at some places for five or six bucks.

Besides the electronic maps on Marty's site, I have the maps from my Free, Fun & Easy Guide to Ambergris Caye on our Web edition of Belize First -- got to http://www.turq.com/belizefirst/amcay/amberg.html for the Ambergris Caye guide and maps.

Several maps of the island and Belize are based at: //AmbergrisCaye.com/maps/

(same spot Margarita referred to above, easier way to find it)

Here's a couple links to Ambergris Caye maps for sale online....

Dr Sal's Maps of Ambergris Caye and Belize http://miva.islandbazaar.net/Mercha...mp;Store_Code=AA1&C ategory_Code=sal

Lan Sluders Caribbean Catalog Maps of Belize, and several other Central American countries

To download a large map of the island. It is a 1.2 mb file that is suitable for printing. The map is 10 inches by 16 inches and 150 dpi. It is in JPEG format, so load into Photoshop or other image manipulation software. Will not load into browser (Netscape). Too big of an image. So right click and save to your disk for this link.....
