This morning, the usual hustle and bustle at Bus Terminal in Belize City was replaced by relative calmness. Typically, the terminal would be packed with people, who would constantly have to rush through the gates to secure a seat on the bus. Not today, however, since many bus lines have opted to either adjust their schedules or suspend runs to certain parts of the country. While this is put in place as a part of preventative measures, it puts a strain on those who travel regularly for work. A lot of those commuters are staff at the Ministry of Health, and according to Doctor Marvin Manzanero, they will have to find ways to accommodate those workers.

Dr.Marvin Manzanero, Director of Health Services: "They actually did not actually indicate that bus runs were supposed to have been suspended. What we have always been asking people is to have the necessary personal precautions when they're on the bus. If you are ill you should not be travelling or going to work I think everybody would understand that, if you take your necessary precautions inside the bus you should not be having a problem in that regard. Of course the bus that stopped running from the north is another headache for us because our health staff, lab staff, is primarily from the northern part of Belize so they will have to stay now in Belize, we have to now find lodging, we're finding hotels are closed so we are trying to see how we can accommodate the staff that commutes to and from all the different areas because it's not that staff coming to Belize City but we have staff travelling between Orange Walk and Corozal and I think some runs from the west were cut off so some of the staff from Belize City had to leave at 3pm today so that's starting to be rather complicated situation for us now also looking for- because people are all over, health staff travels all over to and from work."

In terms of individual bus lines, James Bus Line has cut down on its express buses. From Punta Gorda Town to Belize City there will only be express buses at 4am on Mondays and Fridays and 6am on Fridays. From Belize City to Punta Gorda, the express buses are only at 12:15pm on Mondays and Fridays and 3:45pm on Fridays. R-Tillett, O-Tillett, Valencia's, Silva's, Morales, and Joshua's Bus Lines have suspended all their runs starting from today. A-Tillett will suspend their services effective tomorrow.
