We had 76 people upstairs(we only invited 50)for the grand opening party and its still standing!!!
It should be interesting on Sunday when the crowd starts dancing.

Where is this place? How do I get there and what is the best day/time to come?
"If the house is a rockin', then don't bother knockin'. . ."
Have any pic's been posted anywhere yet?
Sounds like another good reason for a visit again this year!
Hello.
Where is your establishment located? Could you please give near-by landmarks? I would love to visit when I'm in AC next month.
Thank you for your time.
Cheers.
JohnnyK.
If I am not mistaken, I believe the new Palapa Bar is right in front of the old one, but out on the pier. Right, anybody?
The old Palapa Bar (and the new? I don't know), was oh, about a mile or a little less north of the cut. You could get there either by water taxi or over the ferry by foot, golf cart or bike. Sunday afternoon is probably the most desirable time to attend.
SOUNDS RAD JIM!
Way to gO!
Is the old Palapa the one Rashell used to run?
We'll be there Sunday afternoon May 4th! Probably the following Sunday too... we had a blast at Palapa last year, singing along with the band, dancing on the bit wooden spool on the beach, and a couple of our friends decided to try and log roll (unsuccessfully of course) in the water. Of course this was all after multiple Belikens starting at Mata Rocks bar that morning, then BCs BBQ. Can't wait to do it all over again!!!

Belize bound May 3-13th!
We will be on AC May 2nd thru 12th. Looks like we will be running into some of you at that time. This will be our first trip to Belize and we are looking forward to taking it Belizeeeeeeee.
Sounds like this is going to be one long party. See you guys in May.
My husband and I took a long walk, from San Pedro all the way out to Capricorn via the beach one of our 19 days. On the way back we stopped at the palapa bar. It is beautiful. Right over the water, just what my poor feet (6 barefoot miles RT needed). Last year it was on the beach, infested with sand fleas, and a real dead end bar. Heard it was redone and worth a visit, and it is. You can take a cart, drive, or as we did, take the hand ferry over the cut, walk to the beach by the big peach house and amble along till you see it. That's a short walk. Have fun. Sweet Basil is very worthwhile to try for a meal. They just have dogs and such at the palapa. Have a great time!
Hey Jim... if we be comin to Palapa on 3-30, what time does the boat pick us up from Pier Lounge (is it just a call thing?) and when be da last boat back?
OR... can ya pick us up from Pepto Bismol as you say, (Caribe Island) and return us for a slight fee??
OHHHH and who be playin?

We will come fetch you and may or may not bring you back. If you bring women of questionable virtue with you than you may have to walk back.
We don't get out much.
Or stay. We got real cool rentals too.
A golf cart would be a lot more fun I think.
See ya soon.
Jim
just sending this to the top without getting charged for a shameles plug Sorry ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Thanks for the info Jim!
Hummm, "questionable virtue" you say...
We may have to leave the Anne Child home. hahaha
Hey, what rentals are you talking about? Are they on this site?
Ya shameless pig, ugh, plug!!
Don't you worry about Bill, HE BE FINE!
His humor eludes some...
Jim I haven't e-mailed, DUH. We just got our confirmation from Caribe so we be fine. We would like to check them out if possible when we get there though.
BIG question for ya...
Is the NEW Palapa "kid friendly" ???
