Hello everyone, Nancy and I will be down over the memorial day weekend, anything special going on? Also it would be great to together with any board members while we are there for a belikan or 12.
We will be down May 28th through June 6th staying at the Palms. As the crazy Canadian that I love and married says "only 24 more sleeps!"

Hi, mickeyo - we will also be there 5/31 (6/1) through 6/6, probably staying at the Palms. Looking forward to it like I can't believe! All the great posts on this board have got us really excited about this trip! We're going to be fishing, snorkeling, etc. while we're on AC - maybe we can get together. Sharon and richard

Mimi, we will see you on the 4th - we actually leave on June 5th - we are staying on second floor at The Palms. I noticed in a previous posting that you were talking about BVI. We have booked a 72 ft sailboat for a crewed sailing trip in May 2005 (yes, next year!). We we also spend about 3 or 4 nights on Tortola after sailing. Any suggestions of things we must do, or places to go? (I have been to a great board www.traveltalkonline.com) See you soon!

Tortola! The beaches are fantastic: Brewers Bay, Smugglers Bay, Long Bay, just to name a few. Nightlife: Bomba's (especially the full moon party), Quito's and the Jolly Roger. Restaurants: Sugar Mill, Sebastian's, Long Bay.
Ferry over to the wonderful, small Jost Van Dyke (you may have already sailed there and to others). Tortola is a beautiful island with lots of interesting places to see and things to do. We love it. We almost planned for this June again, but AC won out. We'll be there 6/9-17 at Banana Beach.

USNA73 - we will just miss you in A/C we leave on 6/5. Thanks for the tips on Tortola. We are thinking of staying at Cane Garden Bay while on land. Any other suggestions?

nancy, i would not know where to begin with the bvi. been there twice on a barefoot private 40+' cat and would go back anytime. the water there is amazingly beautiful. great food at the c & f grill on tortola, and soper's hole is gorgeous. the french side of st martin is like a town in paris, the dutch side very commercial. antiqua has an annual yacht race not to be missed and anquilla has one of the most beautiful beaches around. go snorkeling at the indians, and the caves at norman island. visit the huge boulders at the baths on virgin gorda. BUT, as for jost van dyke, my fave is probably white bay and the soggy dollar bar. we sailed around the corner from foxy's nightclub into this little bay with incredible water and beaches.
ok, so maybe i was drunk, but obviously i was really impressed. totally amazing.
sorry, i kinda got out of the bvi into the other islands, but it's worth it. and i hate to admit this, but for me, the bvi beats belize anyday.
i'll try to remember to bring pix with me in june. see you then.
mimi

Nancyo: I just emailed our Tortola web address to you.
I can't comment on accommodations at Cane Garden Bay because we didn't check any out. We loved Long Bay. I think Rhymer's has a good rep at Cane Garden.
