Our group of six are coming down in two weeks.
Is the STRIKE situation something we should worry about, or just part of the 'normal' local landscape.
We're well traveled and have had "no water" or
"no power" sporadically situations in our travels,
but NO WATER NO POWER for days is NOT how we want to spend our tourism dollars.
Any soothing words out there??
The strike is scheduled to last for only two days, yesterday and today. That is not to say that things can't escalate from here, so you might want to check back in a couple days to say if things have returned to normal.
Well yesterday was peacful on the island - and although there was a scheduled water cut-off in the morning - it was restored at noon.
No power outages.
The city and the mainland are a different story - but then again there are a lot more government employees on strike over there.
This is a fairly regular occurance in response to the annual budget - and it will blow over.
Thanks Amanda & Chris ... we appreciate the info.
We feel better ... I'd have a Belikin now .... if
I had one!!
Paisano is officially on strike. He will continue to operate as normal on Saturday.
My God ... I was unaware of the DEPTH of this
thing! Paisano .... can no one be at peace?
Will be down Feb 1. I am not worried unless we hear that Bowen & Bowen is shut down, now that might be a problem. I don't expect a few days of protest to change the govt much.............not to say that it is not in need of a shakeup.
