O.K. I keep reading you all on this beer. Is it that this is that good of a beer, or is it the only beer you get? What would you compare it too? What type of beer is it?

A bit about the beer:

We get other beers but they're mainly the swill from US breweries (Bud (no longer), Miller, etc.)

The quality control isn't the greatest but most of the time it's got a good full bodied taste, best served ice cold but warm is fine in a pinch.

JesseB,thanks for the site. Do you know if it is sold in the states? I have never seen it in San Diego.

Jesse, do you want to deck him or shall I?

deacon, just a little suggestion, try the search function at the top of the page for some items. You'll find that many of your questions have already been answered (the beer one within the last few hours, albeit in another thread.)

Gee, I thought it was nice that so many questions were actually answered without too much of a struggle.

Yes, I agree the search is good but there is surely a lot of babble in all the posts, or should I say hijackiing laugh

Deacon,
I'd classify Belikin Regular as an IPA. It's got a "twang" to it like an IPA, but not as much as a Bitter. It's really not a bad beer. It's not a remarkable beer, either, unlike One Barrel. That's a remarkable rum.

Remember, Belize used to be British Honduras. The British know how to make beer and they seem to have passed on the skills for brewing beer in the tropics, not an easy feat, to the Belizans. IPA stands for "India Pale Ale".

Beverages and More carries Belikin. There are several stores in the San Diego area. I picked up a sixer at the Hunting Beach store a couple of weeks ago for $7. The good news is that the bottles are 12oz now. If I remember, the old bottles were something like 10.5oz.

If the bottles are 12 oz. it probably means that the beer is Premium, Regular comes in the smaller bottle.
