The world has changed while you where gone Johnboy
Ferrys history and development has gone up the island like a brush fire. You can drive your golf cart almost all the way up but will need a new spine and kidneys when you get there.
cost for crossing the bridge vari for who you are, what your driving and where you live but still reasonable and hopefully funds going to pay for the bridge.
My life has gone from a Robinson Cursoe experience to being able to order a pizza delivered to my front door.

Johnboy, the cost to cross the bridge with a golf cart is normally $5.00 BZE each way. A monthly pass is $175.00 BZE. The bridge is the greatest thing that has happened. The next greatest thing that is going on now is the paving of front st and the road from Island Academy to Victoria House. If you visit often or have a second home here like we do, then you've got to LOVE it!!

We paid $150 BZ for a monthly permit back in January when we were living on the north side of the bridge.

We were going back and forth to town quite often.

Also, the bridge is free in the early evenings...I can't remember what time, but maybe someone else can help with that!

I shouldn't tell tales about the good old days, It always makes one seem old and boring...but I used to drink in town until after dark and the ferry operator would always go home earlier and lock the ferry to a post. So in order to get home I would take off my clothes and hold them over my head while I swam the river in the dark, and it was dark back then no street lamps because elect. was limited from a generator the town had. Very sobering, cold water and worry about crocodiles. The bridge isn't that bad.

Elbert, now I know who you are. I remember you sharing that story with my wife & I one day at Coco Loco's. I remember your saying you would do that when you went in town to the dances. Memories!
