Best food in SP list - 05/18/08 11:50 PM

OK, so I know it's been discussed before...but can we get an updated list of San Pedro's best kept food secrets? Here are my picks...

Best Breakfast - Estelle's Breakfast Burritos, Neri's Tacos, George's Kitchen Breakfast Sandwich.

Best Lunch - Monkey Bites, Blue Water Grill, BC's Sunday Ribs

Best Dinner - Casa Picaso, Blue Lotus, Blue Water Grill

Best Pizza - Blue Water Grill, Pirate Pizza

Best Stewed Chicken - George's Kitchen

Best Lounge/Bar - The Playa Lounge, The Palapa Bar, BC's

Best Kept food secret - El Fogon, Neri's Tacos, The Papusa Lady on Middle Street

Best Burger - El Divino (sometimes quantity is quality)

Appreciate your picks as I would hate to miss out on something.

If you are already going to be at the Palapa Bar, the pulled pork sandwich is da bomb.

I've said it before - fish burger at Celi's! Grilled is good, but fried is yum-yum.

FAVORITE BREAKFAST - Huevos Rancheros and Fry Jacks at Lily's

FAVORITE LUNCH - Sopa de Lima at Caliente; Shrimp Ceviche from the locals; and Blue Water Grill's Fish n Chips and Pork Dumplings

FAVORITE DINNER - The Islander at El Patio; Tomato/Mozarella Salad with Basil and Asparagus and Basil Risotto at Pinki Knox - a couple of our group had the Thai Green Curry and found it to be too hot, but still quite tasty

We also had some nice dishes at Fido's: Coco Loco Shrimp and Coco Loco Chicken were both very good, as was the shrimp and conch ceviche and the fish n chips. One of our group had an excellent fish dish, but I cannot recall the name (sorry!). Great pizza from Pirate Pizza...the Supreme was especially nice! BC's BBQ chicken dinner on Sunday was good, too. We also had some very nice tapas and drinks at La Playa Lounge...and it is such a comfortable and welcoming place!

I have to admit that I did not have a bad meal in San Pedro the whole week (May 10 - 17); or for that matter, in any of our 6 visits, although some meals did stand out more than others.

Great recommendations. We're coming this week for our first visit. Do any places serve sushi?

The sushi Bar upstairs in Fidos is open.

Sharon is a great cook - very high quality control for serving sushi.

You can find her at Island Perk in the mornings to inquire.

suecate, ditto. El Patio is good, as well as the other places suggested.

Fido's serves really good conch fritters and I second the sushi upstairs - Sharon is awesome and I'm so glad she reopened! Definitely on my list next round!
