Your best bet is church, at least you'll be able to meet the family first. wink

Re: single in sp - 06/23/08 07:15 PM

What North Americans qualify as single and what some guys on this island seem to call single are very different.
Most are not married in their minds yet they live with someone and have children with them. Or have several girls. Just ask a lot of questions and get to know the person before getting emotionally involved.

this must be a joke. So you are in SP? Your profile shows you are an "official party inspector"

Re: single in sp - 06/23/08 08:27 PM

The answer to your question is quite simple: "Wherever I am".
However, you missed me, I left 3 weeks ago.
But I'm back Feb '09.

No pedalpusher is just throwing his name in the "single guy" hat.

Re: single in sp - 06/23/08 09:39 PM

Are you looking for a guy who is not forgetful about his married status, or are you looking for a guy who is not married, but who is forgetful? Could make a difference.

Re: single in sp - 06/23/08 09:45 PM

I am looking for a guy who is not forgetful about his status. For example when i ask him if he's single, Id like him to be honest, not being married dosent mean your necessarily single. If you have a girlfriend or in a long term relationship with someone, but just because your not married to that person it does not make you single. I hope this clarifies things

Re: single in sp - 06/24/08 07:06 AM

If you meet a guy that you are interested in, ask him if he has a sweetie, if he says no, ask him if he has a sweetie that is not on the island. Ask him if he has any children. If he says yes, then ask about his children and where they live. The answers to that should help you formulate some new questions.

Don't forget to express huge surprise that such a catch as he, doesn't have a gial or two somewhere. Maybe there's something wrong with him, lol.

Start and the Black & White Bar and if that doesn't work, go over to the Thirsty Tiger.

Re: single in sp - 06/24/08 04:51 PM

Isla,
Simply ask some local women many know which local man is with which women!
They could probably list the local stay far away from players easily!
Belize it!

Re: single in sp - 06/24/08 06:25 PM

Isla,

Here is some advice that was given to me, You will find what you are looking for.Where are you going to meet guys any way, think about that???and as for the lying trust me that is not a natural phenomenon that only occurs in San Pedro, im pretty sure that happens all over,I'm pretty sure that even in Alaska you will find that there are some men who will not be honest about their relationship status.Just keep an open mind. And don't be so hung up on finding a man, enjoy the island, im sure you'll have fun, even if your single

Re: single in sp - 06/25/08 09:07 PM

Isla,
assuming you are serious, i will give you serious advice from a single girl in SP, living here full time 2 years. Also, how old are you and how long have you been here?

This is an EXTREMELY small island to those of us that live here full time. What that means is...when you meet someone, there is NO RUSH...you will see him again...and again...and again...and one day you will see him at central park for Independance day or something, and there he'll be with his wife and children, and you'll know its his family because he wont even say hi to you...and wont you be glad you looked before you leapt! Or not..up to you.

Take your time to REALLY get to know people before you let yourself put more into the emotional pot than you are willing to lose.

Re: single in sp - 06/26/08 02:18 AM

There are a lot of wonderful single women on the island. I have yet to meet a man who is single and available. Oh, except the two Pedro's.

Re: single in sp - 06/26/08 04:12 PM

I completely agree with Lara.
Isla you had mentioned in mini chat that you were in your late 20s and are thinking of moving down here full time and that you had taken the advise of seeing what it is like first. This is one of the many things that you have to experience first hand. But I don't think it is only San Pedro where it is hard to meet a person for a committed long term relationship. There are a LOT of single women on this Island...It is a small Island. If right now your main goal in life is finding a life partner then you may need to go where you have more options.
Good luck

Re: single in sp - 06/26/08 04:19 PM

I don't think I have met Scott - how single is he? LOL
AL - of course I include myself - but I may be the only one that does.

Isla,
There are very few single men, if number one reason your moving here is to meet someone, i would reconsider. its like purdygrl mentioned this is a small island. And your not the only single gal, there are many single women

With over 2800 "views" and over "40" replies, maybe we should start a "Singles Dating Web Site" for the island?

I think azbob's idea about a singles dating website for the island would be really good. And isla if your reading this, how long have you been in sp for.Because some of us "single GAls"have either been here all our lives or a long time, and were still single, so dont feel bad.
