vacationers coming to town next week...will most places take larger bills like $50's or should we bring $20's or smaller in US money?

20s or smaller is always better bring a lot of ones and fives.

We have a new situation with the banks and US money. They have become very particular about the condition of the bill and small tears or marks will get them rejected. This has trickled down to the merchants and you'll find they scrutinize the condition of the US bills you give them and hand them back for just the smallest of flaws.
Bring New Bills from the bank if possible.

In the states when a bill is worn, torn, etc. they just send it to the Fed to be replaced. Here there is no way for the banks to replace the US currency...

I think it is only Belize Bank that has gotten picky about accepting only perfect bills. Atlantic and Heritage will take your crumpled bills and so will I. laugh
