Hey gang. The Otters are making our 7th trip, but this time we're bringing some more baggage.
We have two other couples making their first trips to Belize. We'd like to see what recommendations would be for all 6 of us.
Need 3 separate bedrooms. We would prefer in town, but modestly south is an option. Price range is pretty wide open since we'd be splitting 3 ways.
Ideas?
Look at this...
http://www.cayemanagement.com/south1.html You could be my neighbor, you lucky guy
email sent to check availability. Thanks Hon!
I'LL Be yer neighbor, Hon !!!
There goes the neighborhood.
Just got response. All booked. Next idea?
Bill, try Ana Lausen, cant find her email but its here somewhere
I'd say the Phoenix but, at $675+ 9% a night, you've got to have a fairly fat wallet to stay there. I think that's were E is staying
Ana says that Belizean Reef is booked -- still waiting to hear about other options form her. She's been fantastic in the past for us.
Our dates are firm at 2/12 through 2/17. Had to commit to FF mile dates.
3br/3ba @ Ban Bch might do the trick
I hear tell BB is all booked. May do 3 rooms at Mayan Princess but looking for other options.
Hahaha. I want our travel mates to want to come back!
Nice place CaptOneIron, but at those prices Otterlum et al can stay at the Phoenix.
Wow Capt -- that looks incredible
Xanadu has no availability for our dates and the 3 bedroom units.
Rent both Diamond Reef. Condos and have your own exclusive resort?
caracol already booked -- would have loved that!
I'll look at Diamond Reef. Where is that located?
Spindrift may be a possibility if we go our separate ways. Got a feeling we may wind up with recommending a handful of properties and letting everyone book on their own
Just get the three rooms at the Mayan then. Excellent location, decent price and has most everything you could need. Nicer than Spindrift, I think. But there's still Sunbreeze Suites and Blue Tang to check out, yes?
Did you say The Palms was booked too?
Thanks all. I should have been making a list, but I believe I checked both Sunbreeze and Blue Tang.
One of our couples is looking at resort properties well north of town and, while I love it up there, Mary and I have been there -- done that. We like staying closer to town so we can walk to Estel's on a whim or check out the ferry schedule, etc.
We love those planning on joining us, but this is our time just once a year for 6 short days -- if they want to go north, good for them. We'll see 'em at dinner at some point
Thanks again everyone. Hoping Ana will get back with us soon on other possibilities as well.
Take care
I hear ya otterlum!! And feel for ya too. But hang in there. Ya never know what might come free.
Ott, Have you tried Grand Caribe? They have more 3 BR units than anyone else I can think of. Spit 3 ways the price is very doable and the experience there would entice your guests to return.
Each BR has a separate bath and it is only 1 1/2 miles north of the bridge.
If you are thinking of going the 3 separate rooms route, take a look at Aqua Vista Suites...
https://www.facebook.com/AquaVistaBZ http://aquavistabelize.com/ Brand new, next door to Seven Seas (north) and Wayo's (south), run by Wayo and Dee so the service is super!
PV is booked.
Grand Caribe is a possibility, but holding out for closer to town. I agree it is a great multiple bedroom property.
I see Aqua Vista is in Boca -- I'll check it out...
Where he stays is entirely up to him and I think we can let him decide what constitutes good value for money. He can contact our property manager if he is interested. I certainly appreciate your input though since you seem to know the Phoenix represents a better deal for him. I wasn't aware of that wisdom.
Capt -- that is one great looking property. I think seashell was simply referencing my stated preference for staying in town and comparing prices on that basis.
Will keep your property in mind as I circle back with my posse. Thanks!
My ol' buddy, Rykat! You know me, brother -- rabble-rouser to the extreme!
Capt. Everyone else was recommending other peoples places, while you were trying to up sell your own - which I believe is against the t&c's of the board yet you do it often. Karma perhaps. Nice place though.
Otter - check your FB messages for an update.
Otterlum, have you tried every permutation of the rental pool at PV? There's something like 4 different management groups and then Cap'n Ron Reef Adventures has a beachfront unit with both up and down suites. Perhaps one unit from each management group would get it done?
And thanks for defending me. You were exactly right of course.
Captoneiron, you had an opportunity there to show diplomacy and grace as normally befits what one seeks in ownership and/or management of an accommodation. Instead you chose another way. Think on that.
Mata Rocks has very nice units too. Have you checked there?
Have you found a place yet? Does it need to be under the same roof as long as it can be on the same grounds. I may be of some help finding you a place in Paradise Villas. PM me
Get stuffed Phil. If you will look I didn't recommend anything. I simply put a URL on the board. Just what I need some troll trying his best to be important.
oh dear....................
This just keeps getting better and better.
No worries Phil, I'm sure he's referring to American Thanksgiving on the 28th. I'm sure he would never post a URL to his own property as that would be in poor taste.
Thanks for the PMs and more ideas here -- have some more ideas to follow-up with this morning. Much appreciated.
Not in as poor taste as you and your Phil sticking your nose into everyone's business without invitation. And Phil's remark about my doing this all the time is not only false it is insulting. I suggest you both somehow try and get a life somewhere other than a simple internet device. Happy Thanksgiving (and there is really only one - USA) to you both!
Hmm something has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth.
I aint touching that one
Okay gang -- I misread the Caribbean Villas website. Looks like that's where we'll be -- one 2-bedroom and one 1-bedroom.
Thanks for everyone's help. I think this is going to be the perfect balance of those folks looking for seclusion and the Otters who are crazy party animals.
Take care!
Good choice! I don't stay there but do enjoy dropping by the little beach bar from time to time, having a drink and a bite to eat. The "beach" area is very pleasant.
Glad you found a good spot. Lewis at Catamaran beach bar makes the best iced coffee since Island Perk.
Do we win a prize if we say it 5 times fast without fumbling Otter
