The roads on the south end of the island are just as bad. They do a half ass job of grading (spreading the dirt from the middle of the road to the edge of the road creating a channel) and it lasts until the first light rain. Between the garbage washed up on the beaches and the horrific roads, not a great way to start high season.
It's not just semantics people, North and South mean opposite things. It gets rather confusing to tourist who don't know about misuse of the word North on Ambergris Caye. It's best to look at a map. //ambergriscaye.com/maps/art/Poster2xmed.gif //ambergriscaye.com/maps/art/Poster2xmed.gif click the map twice and notice where Tres Cocos is.
