We have been to Ambergris before and loved it. We were planning on staying at Ramon's this time, but got our vacation date too late and they are full. Any recs on a good second choice are greatly appreciated!!! We are new scuba divers and are planning on doing our referral there; we loved the idea of a pool and the style of Ramon's, as well as the fact that they have a pretty nice little beach. Is there anything else similar?

When are your dates? Is a pool absolute?

You might try Tropica. I don't know though, the season is here, and everyone is pretty full. Paradise Villas have nice pool too. Good luck with it. You may have to lower your expectations somewhat.

Have you tried Caribe Island--3 miles south of town. Have their own dive shop, a lively bar, volleyball court, and a nice pool--not as convenient to town, but very nice--their website is available throught the Ambergris board. Excellent rum punches also!
