As part of the ongoing campaign to keep 'Isla Bonita' clean, The San Pedro Town Council along with the Traffic Department will be identifying all derelict and abandoned vehicles, and remove them from the island. Notices have been posted on vehicles found to be derelict/ abandoned giving the owners time remove them or the Town Council will remove them at the last registered owners expense.

Vehicle owners ore reminded that all vehicles must be registered and licensed with the San Pedro Traffic Department, failure to do so could result in the vehicle being impounded and or removed from the Island.

The removal of derelict vehicles has begun. The first of many to be removed.. A big shout out to Caribbean Depot for once again helping out. Derelict vehicles will be removed. If you want to keep any old or broken vehicle it must be on your property. Any unlicensed or derelict vehicles on the side of street will be removed and taken off the Island.

If there already isn't something in place, there should be a restriction on vehicles allowed on the Island.

Any of those vehicles they should just run the VIN number and charge the last legal owner for removal. Problem solved and Village does not have to foot the bill

The restriction on vehicles and golf carts allowed on the island has been the subject for a very long time, you would think that would be part of the solution, and at one time we were told that would be the case, but as time goes on, like all other promises.....Money talks first !!

Vehicles and golf carts are not a traffic problem until people are driving them. People equal the problem. You can't expect to attract more people and have less traffic. Also, infrastructure needs to be in place to accommodate the increase in population before the population exceeds the infrastructures ability to handle it.
You can issue thousands of vehicle permits but until those vehicles are being driven by a person, they are not a problem.
Issuing less building permits seems to me like a more effective solution.
