Is there a BEACH dress code? In other words, just how much is allowed to come off? Are there any local laws, or do they even care?
Posted By: rickcheri Re: BEACH dress code - 08/28/01 10:59 PM
don't know about laws??? But have never seen ANY nudity there. I'm sure you would draw a crowd of "locals"....lol
Posted By: Debbie Re: BEACH dress code - 08/28/01 11:02 PM
the locals tend to be quite modest. Many ladies don't even wear swimsuits, or swim much for that matter. Lots of shorts and shirts. So nudity would be frowned upon.

Sorry to say-- No nude beaches or topless...
Not even t-backs unless they are covered...
But if you are in a remote area You can do mostly what you want.. We saw a sailing boat with topless girls on it in t-backs.. and the were snorkling like that and they were OK... Just be careful... Thanks, Rick

Nudity IS against the law in Belize... however, as we all know, where there is a will there is a way. There are some remote areas where you can go and be safe, or as safe as safe can be...
Posted By: KOZ FROM DENVER Re: BEACH dress code - 08/29/01 04:27 PM
could someone please post these "remote" area's with a map.

Is there a guide for these places?

Can someone put up a web-cam?

Thanks,
Koz

If I could only turn the clock back about 30 years. Speaking of dress codes, just a few weeks ago, while we were at Romone's, some apparel outfit was doing a shoot for some woman's catalog. One of the young models would come out very, very early in the morning, just after I had watched the sunrise, in nothing but a thong and a sarong. The sarong would drop from her shoulders, she would do a few yoga stretches, a short little swim, and then back to the beach for a few more yoga stretches meditating to the sun. Must say that it made my mornings that much more enjoyable, not to mention whomever was raking the beach that morning. Funny, the next morning, there was 3 early morning rakers.

Topless may be against the law, but when Butch and I visited AC in Febraury, I noticed that he spent alot of time in front of the next hotel over from Exotic Caye. When I asked why, he walked me over to show me... of course, about 6 barely legal chickies, no tops. At least I knew where to find him when I needed another mango tango!

Look at it this way. If you swim in the nude, then the Pica Pica (little jelly fish larva) will not have any tight, elastic spots to get trapped in and sting...... LOL!!!! It's a medical prevention plan, against major itchy spots..... Think the local police will buy it????? [Linked Image]

Koz, rack is the word you meant to write.

Most with a good rack look like a rake though!

ok, last august when we were there, we did have some italian girls on the island. they sunbathed toples. while everyone pretended not to be gawking, everyone was. and it was the hushed talk of the town that week. "hey, have you seen the ITALIAN girls??"!

the locals are modest. i would respect that. wear a suit. shorts and a t-shirt pulled over a suit are fine for indoors.

bare feet arre allowed evrywhere, even fine restaurants.

I must agree with jane. Unless you enjoy being an exhibitionist and visually assaulted I would wear a sarong or tee shirt while walking about. The local males enjoy chatting up females unattached as I experianced several times when the Pirate and Bro where not around. As soon as my male escorts showed their handsome faces the attention was toned way down. I was also majorly hit on while swimming off the pier one day. Now granted it gave this newly 40 year old an ego boost, but come on the guy was young enough to date my 14 year old daughter.

Depends on where you are staying, too. I went on a walk up to Mata Chica one day, and there was a woman sunbathing topless (laying face down). It didn't seem inappropriate to me. It's pretty remote up there.

In town... no way. I think you'd really draw a crowd!

God bless you please Mrs. She-Devil, heaven holds a place for those who pray.

you've got me swaying in my seat here.

WHile on AC, I met an AMerican couple who had opened a dive shop. They told me this story, of a tour guide who leads nude diving tours. Apparently, you feel really one with nature when you swim nude in the sea. WEll, anyway, on one particular occasion, a group was swimming with some stingrays, which they chummed. The guide, with the bait, all of the sudden felt a strange sensation on his, ahem, you know. I guess one of the rays mistook his "package" for a piece of bait! They say he hasn't been in the water since then.

That's going to leave a mark.

Insert Nightcrawler joke here.
Posted By: Barefoot Skinny Re: BEACH dress code - 09/08/01 05:12 AM
Well that was almost the true story. The true story is that they were not nude snorkling. Nature called and he didn't like to do "it" in his trunks, so out came the church mouse and it was mistaken for a sardine. I joked that he was the first person in history to receive oral sex from a stingray. He didn't think it was funny.

As for nudity, just stumble into Fido's when the British soldiers are there ladies! Or, guys will enjoy off season at Caye Cauker when the Europeans "come out" in force.

Fido's is the place to see action. Just sit there, and the scene changes every few minutes. It is like grand central station, sooner or later everyone on the island strolls thru. Oh yes, the British Soldiers are a sight to behold, and entertaining. Best of all is listening to Barefoot Skinny.
