Another San Pedro Shooting

Monday night we told you how the peace on San Pedro was shattered when the island saw its first targeted shooting in two years. It left 35-year-old Luis Abner Tun critical at the K.H.M.H.

And the gun violence wasn't a one-off because the very next night saw 25-year-old Joshua Gongora shot in the island's DFC area. It happened at around 9:30 pm last night when Gongora was riding his bike in that area. That's when he was approached by 3 men; one of them took out a firearm and let off a spray of gunfire- pictures of the scene show as many as 14 markers on the ground.

Gongora was shot twice and rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic and thereafter to the K.H.M.H via air ambulance. Reports are that Gongora's mother and sister have joined him in the city where he is stable and recovering.

Our archives show that back in 2017 Gongora, now a victim of gun violence was arrested and charged with the offense of keeping an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

No one has been arrested for the two island shootings on Sunday and Monday.
