Thanks for the site. I have been there, but most of what I have heard and read (Lan's books) say that it is best to find property via other methods than a real estate broker on the island.
I am looking for someone who has purchased property and might be looking to sell.
Actually I don't think my books say it's best not to deal with a real estate broker in San Pedro. San Pedro is the one area in Belize where a lot of the property is handled through brokers.
I do point out (quoting Emory King in one case) that in Belize anyone can print a business card and instantly be a real estate broker. Some hotel owners and bartenders sell real estate on the side.
Also, in most areas most of the property that's for sale is by individuals, not through brokers. Also, a lot of property in Belize is for sale but not actively on the market.
Again, in San Pedro the situation is a little different, because you have a lot of foreigners buying property who do want to work with brokers and you have some knowledgeable local real estate people, some of whom were developers or agents back in the U.S.
