WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR BELIZE Here is the weekly weather outlook for Belize, as we near the start of the 2013 Hurricane Season. It will be an-above normal year for tropical cyclone development in the North Atlantic Basin, so we must prepare for a worst case scenario and hope for the best! It is the Law of Parsimony, simple and straightforward! The tropical wave (tw) along 70w this afternoon is moving west around 15 mph. At this rate it will be reaching coastal water of Belize by friday afternoon. Precipitable water values are in the range of 40-50 mm in assiciation with this wave.This will moisten the very dry airmass over the Western Caribbean and Belize as the tw reach and crosses northern Central America on Friday and Friday night. This system will induce outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms over Belize on Friday and Saturday, and if conditions in the upper atmosphere becomes favorable, the instability could persist over the weekend and could mark the start of the rains for Belize.
