From Belmopan...
The general level of moisture around us is on the increase. We could get significant rain any time from now, but I would expect probably in a week or twos time.
Ramon Frutos said yesterday " Hot day time temperatures and high evaporative loss will continue over the next ten days. Chance of moderate or intense thunderstorms will be higher later on Friday through the coming weekend, then becoming more persistent on Tuesday through Thursday of next week. " " no major system is expected to drift over the NW Caribbean and Belize during the next three to five days to generate a persistent rainfall event, marking the onset of the 2016 Rain Season. Hence, the 2016 Rainy Season will be delayed by almost five to seven days. Significant and persistent rainfall will gradually begin by next Monday and continue through Thursday of next week. "
That could be 06 - 10 Jun or so. It is not clear if we will just have the higher chance of significant rain, or if there will be more persistent rain as in rainy season. That large ITCZ activity in the Caribbean was caused by the increasing wet Caribbean air clashing with the Pacific high level. ( The red arrow shows the development direction, not wind direction. )
Looks like today's weather will appear similar to yesterday, but that wet conditions are getting nearer, perhaps a little rain today, increasing chance over the next week or two.
