The Caribbean Sea

A stationary front extends from eastern Cuba near 20N77W to the Costa Rica/Nicaragua border near 11N84W. Scattered showers are seen between eastern Cuba and Jamaica. Isolated showers are noted elsewhere within 90 nm of the front. Moderate to locally fresh N winds are in the W Caribbean within 120 nm W of the front. Moderate to fresh tradewinds prevail elsewhere E of 76W with strongest winds in the southern Caribbean just N of Venezuela and Colombia.

The stationary front extending from E Cuba to S Nicaragua will gradually dissipate through today. High pressure will build N of the area by the middle of the week, strengthening winds over the south central Caribbean.

On Ambergris Caye this morning we have a flat calm sea around our barrier reef with a cloudless sky. The expected high temperature for this sunny day is in the low 80's. The wind speed is nil.

From Belmopan...

A cold morning, due to the cold air that came down yesterday and a clear night sky, allowing Earth's temperature to radiate out into space, the so called CO� blanket is not working as they are trying to tell us.

I am not seeing any clouds on the satellite pictures, I thought because too early for sun on the clouds, but checking indicates, because there are no clouds over much of south Mexico, Guatamala and Belize. There is very slow easterly movement of very little Caribbean cloud way out at sea, by Honduras.

Looks like today will be sunny, but white clouds should develop later this morning, no rain expected.

Tomorrows WEATHER for - Wed 30 Jan 2019

Not much cloud all day, the easterly Caribbean winds have not yet been able to push back in, althoug the sun did drive easterly wind this afternoon. There is still cool air coming down from the north and SW high level with little or no cloud in it.

Looks as if it will be another cold, clear night sky and a sunny morning.
