General Situation:
Ambergris Caye: Conditions this morning by Elbert just before or after this post!
Belize NMS: Present Condition: Cloudy. Warm and relatively unstable conditions continue to dominate our weather. Advisories: None.
24-hour forecast: Skies will be sunny with some cloudy spells today and cloudy at times tonight. A few showers and thunderstorms will occur mostly over inland areas this afternoon, increasing over southern and central areas tonight.

Outlook: Mostly sunny skies with isolated showers or thunderstorms during Monday, then some cloudy spells with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over southern and some coastal areas Monday night.
Tropical Weather Outlook: At 9:00pm last night the eye of Cat 4 Hurricane Dorian was located near 26.3N, 75.1W or about 310 miles East of West Palm Beach, Florida. Dorian was moving westward at 8 mph with maximum sustained winds of 150 mph. A broad area of low pressure over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico has a low chance of further development during the next two days; while a tropical wave near the Cabo Verde Islands also has a low chance of development during the next two days. The Caribbean Sea

A surface trough extends from 27N90W, to a 1009 mb low pressure center that is just to the north of the Yucatan Peninsula near 23N87W, southeastward into the NW corner of the Caribbean Sea, near 19N84W. Isolated moderate rainshowers are from 14N northward from Jamaica westward.

The monsoon trough passes through 10N73W in Colombia, through eastern Panama, southern Panama near 08N81W, beyond 08N84W in the eastern Pacific Ocean. Scattered to numerous strong rainshowers are in Colombia, from 05N northward between 73W and 76W, and in NW Venezuela between the southern part of Lake Maracaibo and the border with Colombia. Other rainshowers are possible elsewhere from 12N southward from 75W westward.

Major Hurricane Dorian is moving slowly W across the Atlantic Ocean, in open waters just E of the northern Bahamas. A tropical wave, currently entering the far eastern Caribbean Sea, will reach the central Caribbean Sea by Monday night, and the western Caribbean Sea by Wednesday. Moderate to fresh winds are expected across the eastern and central Caribbean Sea, with gentle to moderate winds prevailing in the NW Caribbean Sea.

On Ambergris Caye this morning the wind is from the West at 8 mph and the sea around our barrier reef is flat calm. It's a sunny day with the expected high temperature set at 90 f.

The present air movements are complex. The air from the north, that brought last nights rain, is still pushing out to sea, but swung round to coming in over from the WSW, where the Caribbean air appears to be moving up from the SE, but there are heavy lines of cloud coming down from the NE, clashing and causing rain out at sea. Meanwhile, there is a lot of mid level cloud over Belize and what looks like an upper air rotating low just off north Belize. All rather mixed up weather.

Looks like much of the day could be cloudy, but with significant sun later, could be some rain showers later today.
