Belize NMS: Present Condition: Clear skies in the north and along the seashore. Mainly fair weather will continue today then an increase in moisture is expected tomorrow. Advisories: None.

The Caribbean Sea

An upper level trough is along 23N64W, across the Virgin Islands, to 15N67W. Precipitation: rainshowers are possible from 15N to 23N between 63W and 67W.

Broad surface low pressure covers the SW corner of the Caribbean Sea. Satellite data and the GFS forecast for 250 mb show upper level anticyclonic wind flow in the SW corner of the Caribbean Sea. The GFS model forecasts for 500 mb and for 700 mb show NE wind flow across the same area. Precipitation: isolated moderate rainshowers are within 150 nm of the coast from 17N southward, from Honduras to Panama.

Strong high pressure in the west central Atlantic Ocean will dominate the region through Wednesday. Expect building sea heights and fresh to strong winds across the central and eastern Caribbean Sea, and in the Tropical N Atlantic Ocean, through mid- week. The wind speeds and the sea heights will subside across the region gradually, on Thursday and Friday, as the high pressure area weakens and shifts eastward.

On Ambergris Caye this morning the wind is from the East at 15 mph making the sea around our barrier reef is choppy. It's sunny with an expected high temperature is 86 f.

The Caribbean winds are back from the east, strongly, having pushed away the cool air. There are only a few traces of high level cloud from the west. Some of the Caribbean cloud is fairly heavy and causing a little rain out at sea and near Dangriga.

Looks as if today will be a mixture of sunny skies and cloud developing this morning a small chance of some rain.

Present Condition: Mostly sunny, a little cloudy patch over Belize City right now.
24hr Forecast: Mostly sunny skies today with the chance of isolated showers and partly cloudy skies tonight with isolated showers and the chance of an isolated thunderstorm over the south and coast.
