Marine Conditions:

The Caribbean Sea

High pressure prevails N of the basin. Aside from the convection near the tropical wave along 70W, scattered moderate convection is noted within 90 nm W-NW of a line from near the Windward Passage to 13N78W, while scattered moderate and isolated strong convection is noted from 15N-17N between 81W-85W associated with a couple of mid to upper level troughs. Moderate to fresh winds prevail across the basin except for light and gentle winds in the SW Caribbean.

The tropical wave in the central Caribbean will reach the western Caribbean by the early part of the week. The tropical wave in the Tropical N Atlantic will move into the eastern Caribbean during the early part of the week. Otherwise, weak high pres N of the basin will support moderate trades, locally fresh in the central Caribbean, for the next several days.

A tropical wave over the east-central Caribbean sea has a small chance of developing in the next couple of days before conditions become unfavourable.

That tropical wave is located over the east-central Caribbean Sea and is producing a disorganized area of showers and thunderstorms. Some slow development of this system is possible during the next couple of days before upper-level winds become unfavorable for formation. This wave is expected to move westward across the central and western Caribbean Sea during the next few days.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.

A tropical wave and area of low pressure located over the eastern tropical Atlantic continues to produce a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Gradual development of this system is expected while it moves westward to west-northwestward, and a tropical depression is likely to form in the next day or two as the system reaches the central tropical Atlantic.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...high...80 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...90 percent.

Another tropical wave located over western Africa is forecast to move over the eastern tropical Atlantic on Sunday. Gradual development of this system is then expected, and a tropical depression is likely to form by the middle of next week while it moves generally westward over the far eastern tropical Atlantic.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...30 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...high...80 percent.

The Caribbean winds are steady from the east, but there are conflicting high level winds, the old winds are still from the north, but now the SW high level is starting to come back, so a fair bit of cloud around, mainly central and south and could be some rain in some south areas.

Looks if today will be mixed, mainly cloud in the south half, some could get heavy and so there will probably be some rain around.

Temperatures in Belmopan : ( Coast usually cooler, hills even cooler )
Last night min. 25°C 75°F Yesterday max. 29°C 84°F Yesterday Rain 9 mm ( 0.4")

A tropical disturbance now located over the central Caribbean to the south of Haiti is producing some deep thunderstorm activity today. The environmental conditions around this disturbance are favorable for development, however, it currently lacks any sort of circulation, especially at the mid and upper levels of the atmosphere. This means that development, if any, is likely to be very slow to occur as it pushes to the west over the next couple of days.

At this point, none of the model guidance forecast any sort of development from this disturbance. This is likely due to the fact that part of the convection may be being caused by the upper level divergent flow from an upper level trough of low pressure near the Florida Straits. Once this disturbance moves a little further west, it should begin to feel the effects of the trough and probably will collapse & weaken.

All-in-all, even though I'm keeping an eye on this disturbance, I think the development chances are extremely low (less than 10 percent chance).

Not a lot of change, Caribbean clouds build, and high level clashing in various places, recently in parts of central Belize and the south.

Present Condition: Partly cloudy, fair in San Pedro. Relatively moist and unstable conditions linger over the area.
24hr Forecast: Cloudy skies at times with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms over most areas of the country except for Northern Belize, Orange Walk and Corozal districts where only isolated showers are expected.

A flood watch is in effect for the possibility of flooding near rivers and streams in the south as well as over other low-lying and flood prone areas across the country.
