ID SEVEN providing for the Youth of Belize
ID SEVEN Company, located in Belmopan City, has become a popular Belizean clothing company. The t-shirt company was founded by a group of five friends back in 2011 and is today operated by Deidra Gentry. ID SEVEN is not just a business but a company that supports the young people of Belize, with 100% of their profits invested in Belizean youths. ID SEVEN offers fully funded high school scholarships, known as the Gideon Scholarship which supports high school students financially. They also support a youth leadership camp called District. Their goal is to inspire youth through activities and simply investing time in them to empower them through mentorship and funding. Their main goal is to support those who really cannot afford an education but who have the desire and commitment to work towards a successful future. So far, ID SEVEN has supported three students in receiving an education.

San Pedro Justice of the Peace chapter holds first monthly meeting
The importance of being an active Justice of the Peace and a presentation on the different types of police identification parades were the highlights at the first monthly meeting of the San Pedro Chapter Association of Justice of the Peace and Commissioner of the Supreme Court. Held at the meeting hall of the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO) on Wednesday, February 7th, the event saw the attendance of many Justices of the Peace (JP) and guest speaker, Sergeant Thomas from the San Pedro Police Formation. The committee plans to hold their next meeting on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the same location at the NEMO conference room.

The Caye Caulker Village Council has addressed the issue of damaged streets after the heavy rains and hired a private company from the mainland to bring out the required equipment to revamp our streets. The Caye Caulker Village Council would also like to use this medium to kindly remind drivers to drive with care and to remember the speed limit on Caye Caulker is 10mph.

PIV man shot dead on West Collet Canal
A man was shot dead last night in Belize city while standing at the corner of West Collet Canal and Hicatee Street. Just after 8:39 p.m. Norman Tyrone Gibson, 20, died at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH) while undergoing treatment. He was shot as many as six times; twice above the left side of his ear, once to the top of his head, once to his shoulder, one to his upper arm and one to the right side of his hip. According to police, Gibson was standing on the street waiting for someone when a lone gunman approached from the direction of Bocotora Street and unleashed a barrage of bullets in his direction.

Bandits escape with $10,000 in cash and goods
Corozal police are investigating a brazen armed robbery at a local Chinese store, in which the bandits took over $10,000 in cash and valuables. Businesswoman Hong Su Rong, 47, owner of Rong's Supermarket located on 4th Avenue reported to police that around 3:25 p.m. on February 8th, while she was inside her store, three men walked in a robbed the place. Two of the culprits had firearms and held her up at gunpoint. According to Rong, the three bandits rummaged through her cash drawer and stole $7,000 cash, and two cell phones.

The 24-hour forecast is for mostly moist conditions to prevail. Cloudy skies with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected over central and southern areas. The extended forecast for tomorrow is for fair weather to prevail.

Israel Perez killed by his own friend?
Police have arrested and charged two men for the brutal murder of government employee Israel Perez; one of them who has been a friend to Perez since childhood. On Thursday, police arraigned 33-year-old Cruz Castillo, and 22-year-old Stanley Herrera Jr for Perez's murder, after finding Castillo with Perez's vehicle, jewelry and even his shoes.

International Economic Development Council appoints a Belizean Director
The Nominating Committee of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), a not-for-profit organization which focuses on growth through job creation and expansion, has elected Belizean born Clarence Hulse to its Board of Directors for a two-year term.

FOX6's Evan Peterson went down to the Milwaukee Public Museum to check out the Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed exhibit. The Milwaukee Public Museum (MPM) will host the Wisconsin engagement of Maya: Hidden Worlds Revealed, the largest exhibition about the ancient Maya ever to be displayed in the United States, on Saturday, February 10. This special exhibit uses authentic artifacts, immersive environments and hands-on activities to explore the rise and fall of the Maya civilization.

Deadly Shooting Prank - Belizean Banker Fined After Killing Friend
A High Court judge has ordered a banker to pay a BDS$15,000 (One Belize dollar=US$0, 49 cents) fine after he was convicted of unlawful harm through negligence of a firearm in the accidental death of his friend, who was shot in the mouth in 2013. The court heard that Edwardo Torres, 45 and his friend Paul Fernandez, 32, were socialising at an establishment on the Philip Goldson Highway in May 2013 when the incident occurred. According to the evidence as the establishment was closing the men went out to the parking lot and according to two other patrons who were witnesses in the case, they heard the men conversing with Fernandez telling Torres to put his licensed firearm in his mouth, Fernandez's mouth.
