Mid-morning fire destroys home south of San Pedro Town
A family's home in the DFC Area was gutted by a fire on Christmas Day, December, 25th. The San Pedro Fire Department rushed to the scene to contain the blaze, while unofficial reports are that one person was injured and is being treated at the Dr. Otto Rodriguez San Pedro Polyclinic II.

17th Voice of the West Elocution Contest
The Rotary Club of San Ignacio will be having the 17th annual Voice of the West Elocution Contest on Thursday, February 7th, at Hode's Place. "This is an annual competition for the high school students in Cayo to show off their writing and speaking skills. Each high school can send three students, from any form, to compete in any of three categories."

Christmas Day Shooting in Orange Walk
On the 25.12.18 at 7:05 a.m. Senon Reyes and Llamont Wade were standing in front of his house located on Muffles Street in Orange Walk Town having a conversation. They saw a male person of Hispanic descent with a cloth covering his face coming toward them with a firearm. The male person fired several shots towards them. As a result, Reyes received a gunshot wound to his left foot and Wade received a gunshot wound the buttocks.

GANG VIOLENCE ? - IN ORANGE WALK ON CHRISTMAS DAY
Early this morning on this blessed Christmas Day, at approximately 7:00am Senon Reyes, 21, and Llamont Wade, 28, were standing on Muffles Street when a gunman with a mask on came toward them and fired shots at them. Reyes was reportedly hit on his left thigh and Wade on his buttocks. Both men are in stable condition at the Northern Regional Hospital.

Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred this morning in Orange Walk. According to reports, Senon Reyes and Llamont Wade were standing in front of a home on Muffles Street when they saw a man with his face covered approaching them. [�]

New gas prices announced
he Ministry of Finance yesterday announced that the price for Premium Gasoline will decrease by 85 cents from $11.32 down to $10.47 per gallon. The price of Diesel will also decrease by 92 cents from $10.75 down to $9.83 per gallon. [�]

Fuel prices recalled
Early today, BBN reported on a decrease in fuel prices effective at midnight. However, the liaison officer at the Belize Bureau of Standards informed BBN that the new prices issued earlier have been recalled. [�]
