Islanders participate in 'Conquer COVID-19' 5k run to raise funds for school suppliesTo raise funds to purchase school supplies and help primary school students in San Pedro Town, a 5k Run dubbed 'Conquer COVID-19,' was held on Saturday, July 11th. The sporting event, spearheaded by Kent 'Bob' Gabourel, Sports Coordinator at the San Pedro Town Council, saw a large number of participants gladly answering the call to support the worthy cause.
The run began shortly after 6AM from the Central Park, heading out to Pescador Drive, south to Banana Beach Resort and back to the starting point. Participants included persons of all ages, but the majority included members of CrossFit boxes, marathoners, government and non-governmental organizations, students, and some children who accompanied their parents, among others.
