Re: World Series - 10/28/04 02:42 PM

What a great time to be living here in Boston!!!!!

It doesn't get any better than this!!!! Not only did we win it all, the fashion we did it in will never be repeated!!!!

We are now the World Champs in baseball, and of course The Champions of the NFL and headed for another one. Twenty one in a row and counting!!!

Look out Steelers were coming to show your rookie
quaterback what the NFL is all about this Sunday.

Hey you Cardinals fans, we feel your pain, we had been through enough of it ourselves.

Hey you Yankee fans,Have you stopped crying and sulking yet. $180 million payroll and that didn't work. What will next years be $250!!!!! A-Rod???
Thank God we didn't get that total phony.

Re: World Series - 10/28/04 08:09 PM

And Lord...since we didn't get another World Series Pennant...how about a nice book store with coffee shop in San Pedro. :p Congratulations to Red Sox Nation. How does it feel to have THAT monkey off yo back. laugh

Re: World Series - 10/28/04 08:21 PM

Yes Bill it feels so good to change history finally. The Red Sox were on such a roll I don't think there was anybody they couldn't beat at this
time. To be down 3 to the Yankees and have it end up like this, you couldn't write the script.

I,m not blowing smoke up you, but I always liked the Cards since I was a kid and can't understand
how they folded like a deck of cards in this series. As a young man of 20yrs, home on leave from the U.S.Navy in 1967 I was fortunate to attend one of the Sox-Cards series games. I was lucky
Bob Gibson did not pitch that day,we won!!!! Imagine what he would be worth on the market today

You are gracious in your congrats. Unlike those
arrogant and ignorant Yankee fans.

Glad Boston won because the curse is broken, but what a boring series!

Re: World Series - 10/29/04 12:01 AM

I was in a sports bar last night watching the game, and it seemed, except for the few Cards fans, the whole world was rooting for the Sox.
Congrats klc & all.

boring lies in the eye of the beholder wink

thanks, and you're right DB, it seesm nearly the entire country was...perhaps it's what we needed at this juncture ?? Something to lighten up with and forget all the ********

Re: World Series - 10/29/04 04:17 AM

Been watching the Cards avidly since returning from San Pedro in early May. They took their pedal off the metal about two weeks prior to the end of the season...and they really did not return to their mid-season form. They played just really great for 2 months...and my only regret was that the nation were not able to see them play when everything was clicking. I'm happy to have seen it myself, but in reality; The Red Sox had a remarkable 8 game streak and I doubt if the 1927 Yankee's could have beaten them this series.

Re: World Series - 10/29/04 07:02 AM

That's right, KLC about boring lies in the eyes of the beholder. Just expected a bit more from the Cards to give the series some excitement, is all...

Well, I guess since it is over, I don't have to worry about watching the suspense from some bar in Maui this week!

Re: World Series - 10/29/04 02:43 PM

hmmm Maui - bars - baseball which one does not belong in this picture?

Have a great trip

( Of course you could always watch the Oakland/San Diego game if ya need a sports fix......... wink )
