What does everyone think about all this? It could potentially have huge ramifications, including a U.S. response in-kind.

And that is just what I was about to comment on. Call me selfish but damn if it isn't going to hurt business in Belize when that happens. Of course I want the embargo to end , Just saying its going to be 'Dive Cuba' The hot new spot in the Caribbean.

Cuba doesn't have the second longest reef in the world...

Lots of people in the world have already "done" Cuba..so Belize just has to market to those who haven't "done" Belize yet.

This is a good beginning, but there is a long way to before “restrictions” are lifted and any kind of diplomatic relationship is established. I’m all for it, but it will take years; so Elbert I don’t think you will have to worry about “Dive Cuba”. With the speed our government gets things done, we may all be dead. Al least I don’t expect it in my life time.

I always thought it was second to the great barrier reef... is that not true?

It is second to the Great Barrier Reef. But it is the largest in the northern Hemisphere.

This exit visa would still apply to doctors, recently graduated university students who have not performed their required "social service," military personnel and members of the Interior Ministry "with access to information that affects state security."

forgot to mention free passes to the states for all murderers,rapists,robbers,ex-cons,**itheads and a**wipes! wink

I'm going to Cuba in a few weeks. I'll report back on how horrible it is there.

LOL, the water there is beautiful, as are the beaches. Really incredible beaches in many places. Havana is an amazing city and the countryside is varied and lovely. The people are wonderful. Geez, who wouldn't want to go there? Also, I have a number of friends that have been diving there (including me) and it's good.
