I'm laboring this Labor Day -- at the airport while my family has a cookout at home (yes, I'm lookin for sympathy).

Have a great holiday for those in the U.S. able to enjoy it!

remodeling basement ... do I get any sympathy?

Well, maybe my husband deserves the sympathy - he's doing most of the work. I'm pretty much the gopher. I go fer this and go fer that (also known as the retriever). grin

We are smelling the sweet smell of hickory smoke wafting through the backyard while it flavors a few racks of ribs on the barbecue. MMMMMMMMMM

I'm reading Nietzsche's Philosophy of Science and must respond to it on WebCT no later than midnight tonight. I'm worse off than all of you.

Re: Labor Day - 09/02/08 01:00 AM

Labor day was a labor of enjoyment. At 7200' in the Pondarosa Pines with scattered showers, high of 72 and low of 52. Repaired a fence and did minor repairs around the place, but I would have traded to be in "hot, humid" AC. Since I couldn't be there, it was totally refreshing both menally and physically!

Re: Labor Day - 09/02/08 05:58 PM

Spent the entire weekend being lazy as can be - sat out by pool, swam, BBQ, read, watch movies, sleep, repeat. 3 day weekends are so wonderful (I like that I got a paid day off for no laboring!)

Back to reality today. . .

H20, I just saw your question over here. In case you missed my answer in the MC VP: My place is up in the Bradshaw Mountains at 7200' on Lookout Mountain. Only about 15 miles from where I live, but it takes an hour to get there. Road/trail is pretty rough, but fun.
