Lost power last night for one hour -- but it went again this morning. They
say none for the entire day -- wondering is this for the whole country??

All radio stations are out!! Must be country wide??

Been 4.5 hours now -- nadda for power--

I can almost hear the generators.

Power went out countrywide at about 7:30 am and did not come back on until 12 hours later. No running water either since some genius tore down all the towns water towers and replaced them with electric pumps.
We have re-named the day "stinky Sunday" since no one could bathe.

San Pedro hit with 4 hour blackout

While one utility was being granted a rate hike, another
was
struggling to provide service to one of its biggest
customers.
At eight twenty-five this morning the entire island of
Ambergris Caye lost its electricity supply and power was
not
restored until over four hours later. According to a
press
release from Belize Electricity Limited, the blackout
was
caused when corrosion on system protection cables caused

a fault on the high power transformer at the San Pedro
substation. B.E.L. says it is in the process of
reviewing its
policy of preventive maintenance to prevent a similar
problem in the futur
