Either tow it overland or contact Hyde Shipping in Miami to see if they can put you in touch with someone who regularly ships full size containers.

Wing Bridge Shipping Co. Houston sails to Big Creek twice a month.

I shipped my fiberglass pool down with Hyde Shipping out of Port Everglades. It is 15' X 30' X 6'. NO problem. I didn't have to put it in a container.

If you ship the boat consider shrink wrapping it. It's costly but keeps it much cleaner and keeps people out of it while it is sitting around port to port.

Do not ship with fuel.

Theere are some other rules too, I think you have to disengage batteries etc. But the shipping guys will advise you.

Ask for Benny Torres at Hyde. Just google it...

He is in Houston--not Florida
One drawback for shipping from Houston is that your cargo ends up in Big Creek.
It cost me more to get the cargo from Big Creek to the island than it did from Houston to Big Creek.

WHERE IS BIG CREEK? THE BOAT (TRAILER) WILL END UP IN COROZAL, BUT IF I CANT GET THE BOAT TO SAN PEDRO, THEN I'M REALLY IN TROUBLE!!

Big Creek is in southern Belize, near Independance town, about an hours drive north of Punta Gorda. It is about a 5 hour drive to Belize City towing a trailer.

I'm confused, why would the boat end up in Corozal if you want it to be in San Pedro and it's coming from Houston?

Re: BOAT DELIVERY? - 10/10/07 05:12 PM

If the boat arrives in Big Creek, why not take a couple of days and explore the coastline of Belize while skippering your boat back to San Pedro?...maybe employ a Belizean Captain/Guide to help?? It's a safe bet that there would be a few skippers in San Pedro willing to bring your boat back for the adventure of the deal and a paid trip to Southern Belize.

I thought about that but what does he do about the trailer?

If he drives it to Belize City, consider the new marina, Old Belize, and can store it there. Will cost some but it will be safe.

Elbert is concerned about a skiff trip to Corozal?
or back again?
What have you been up to lately Mr. Birdman? Poaching Mayhaps?
We need to investigate the taxidermi collections on his mantle piece.
