The Ministry of Health, Dental Health Department in collaboration with Belize Mission Project teamed up during the month of October to provide free dental service across the country. The team was headed by Dr. Frank Whipps included volunteer Dentists, Medical Practitioners, Dental Hygienists, Dental Assistants and Lab Technicians from the United States. They carried out fillings, cleaning, fluoride treatments, sealants and tooth brushing drills in the rural and urban communities of the country. Fifty one volunteers came in the first group that stayed from the 4th to the 12th of October while 44 volunteers made the second trip that provide service from the 14th to 22nd October. The target population were children at the Primary schools and persons who visited the Community Health Centers. Some thirty four Belizeans were also assisted with dentures.
