Thanks
Larry

We have stayed there i found it awesome. very jungle-y. closest feel to cayo on the island for me. Birds and wildlife GALORE!

Here's a review i wrote for TripAdvisor awhile back. don't know if they ever published it!
------------

"Wonderful Resort!"

We just had the pleasure of staying at Sueno del Mar on the north end of
Ambergris Caye, Belize. What a fabulous time we had!

Lush surroundings and a very modern resort, luxury in the jungle of the
cayes. Large units that are generously furnished. Very Clean. Unusual
perhaps for resorts more off the beaten trail, everything works! The
microwave, oven, tgelevision, wireless internet, it all works! Hot water
with plenty of supply. No trickle of cold only water here.

The staff is extremely accommodating and friendly. Excellent food by the
chef of Blue Moon in San Pedro. Every meal was fresh and a treat for the
taste buds.

It is situated up north where there are not many homes or resorts, thus
the bird, animal, and wildlife populations are much more significant
than further south on the island.

Large nice boats to get to town and back, provided by the resort.
Excellent snorkeling as the reef has gotten very close to the land at
Sueno. Located in a marine protected area also so pristine environment.
A small catamaran is provided, along with kayaks and other floating fun
toys. Two very nice pools as well, with a rock-like waterfall at the end
of one you can lay your head back into...

We HIGHLY recommend you give Sueno a visit. You will be very glad you
did.

Thank you for your quick reponse. My wide and I will be visiting the 1st week in Dec to celebrate our 20th. This will be our 1st time to AC, have visited Aruba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic Aruba, Bonaire, Grand Cayman, Great Guano cay (out islands Bahamas, St. Thomas and St Croix, Cozumel and Cancun looking for our own little piece of paradise and found Cozumel the best for snorkeling as my wife has a new passion in life. I am a diver.
Figured Belize is right next door so decided to compare the 2. You mentioned the "Blue Moon" in San Pedro. I have been in conversation with Sueno Del Mar and they indicated they have an on-site restaraunt with the same name. I think at one time it was called the Palapas Restaraunt and Bar. Have you eaten at teh restaraunt on site at Sueno??

Thanks

Larry

He may never live to see Sueno smile

Side note: the original developer of Sueno Del Mar is sitting in the pokey in Colorado.

Almost next door to Sueno is Tranquility Bay, which has a very good restaurant (and good bird watching). They also have their own dive center, if that interests you. There's also a local freshly made pizza delivery service, I kid you not.

I found the food at Sueno to be absolutely lousy, but that was under the former management. There will presumably be a new management and hopefully they can turn out some good food.
The setting is lovely ......

Hey Larry..we will be at Sueno the first week of Dec too. Can anyone tell what the prices are like at the restaurant at Sueno or at the nearby resort?

And we were both here (my wife and I are still at Sueno) at the same time and really confused the staff at first.
