What to Pack for a Week of Adventure in Belize


So you’ve got your ticket booked and you’ve bookmarked all the adventures you want to experience in Belize: exploring sacred Mayan caves, tubing along a lazy river and horseback riding past an ancient Maya city. But now you’re staring at your empty suitcase and wondering “What should I bring?”

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered! Here’s our packing list for Ka’ana’s favorite Belizean adventures:

Tikal Mayan Ruins


Planning to visit the spectacular Tikal Mayan Ruins? This journey through lush Guatemalan jungle and to the tops of Maya temples means you need sturdy hiking shoes, bug spray, sunscreen and an excellent camera. Tikal will provide the monkeys, toucans, awe-inspiring temples and epic views!

Actun Tunichil Muknal


If caving sparks your interest, sign up for the incredible Actun Tunichil Muknal tour, taking you inside one of the most impressive caves in the Maya Lowland! The exploration begins with a 45 minute trek that includes wading across 3 rivers to get you to the impressive “Cave of the Stone Sepulcher”. So don’t forget to bring your bathing suit, water shoes or sneakers, sunscreen and insect repellent. We’ll provide the rest!

Horseback Riding at Xunantunich


Prefer to see the world from on top of a saddle? Try a unique horseback riding tour through open pasture, across a river and past the Maya city of Xunantunich. This excursion is truly off the beaten path, and to enjoy it you’ll need covered shoes, long pants, a hat, sunglasses, bug spray, sun screen and a great camera. We’ll bring the horse!

Cave Tubing


Perhaps the lazy river is more your speed? Grab a tube and hop in to our easygoing Cave Tubing adventure! This is a perfect day full of exploration with plenty of relaxation thrown in. All you need to bring is a bathing suit, sunscreen, insect repellent, and water shoes or sneakers. We’ll provide the enjoyment!

Private Picnic at Big Rock Falls


One of the most breathtaking sites in Western Belize is also the perfect place for a picnic! Led by your adventure specialist, you’ll hike down to Big Rock Waterfall and climb over boulders as he shows you the best swimming spots, which you can enjoy as he sets up your private picnic. You only need to bring sturdy walking shoes, bug spray, your favorite swimsuit and a camera. You won’t want to forget these pictures!
