Permanent Residency application

Question: Friends went through the police interview component of the Permanent Residency application yesterday. At the end of the interview, they (the police) were insistent they had to come and inspect their house.

Friends put them off as they had never heard of this before. Is this now the norm? That there is an inspection of ones home as part of the Permanent Residency application. I have never heard of this before...hasn’t happened for anyone else that I know that applied for, and received, Permanent Residency.

It has always been the norm. Most times the police don’t even come through the front gate.
