Revised Edition 1980 - 1990. According to the Section 17. Prohibition on allowing dogs to be at large states that: "Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, no owner of a dog shall permit that dog to be at large in any street or place of public resort in any town and any person who contravenes this section is guilty of an offence and is. on summary conviction, liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred dollars."
It is time for dog owners to be civic-minded; people need to feel secure, free of bodily harm from dog attacks. Dogs can be loose but in a fenced yard. All dogs must have a collar to be subdue easily by owners or other authorized personnel.
Early morning up to late evenings. office workers, Police officers, young athletes and others, do workouts such as running around the block or up to one mile, complaints of being chased by dogs. Even pedestrians and cyclists are being attacked by vicious dogs. The time has come that this behavior is no longer acceptable. Dogs can’t be blamed but owners can be held liable.
