Mata Rocks Resort
is a small intimate beachfront hotel providing
personalized service and tropical elegance in a casual relaxed atmosphere.
All rooms have ocean views and a choice of air conditioning or ceiling fans.
Most rooms have kitchenettes. Our beachfront bar serves wonderful tropical
drinks and light lunches as well as a complimentary continental breakfast.
Bicycles are available free of charge for guests to explore the island. Diving,
snorkeling, windsurfing and fishing are available just a few feet from your
room.
Ten rooms in native hardwood, stucco and tile provide light, airy and
comfortable accomodation. You can relax on the large deck outside your room,
or mingle with friends at the bar and enjoy a Mata Colada. The pristine white
sand beach invites you for a stroll, and the hammocks are great for reading
a book, or just hanging out.
The town of San Pedro is a short walk away, or minutes by bicycle. Inland
tours and watersports (diving, snorkeling, windsurfing and fishing) are all
available to make your vacation here at Mata
Rocks one you will remember forever.

Terry and Liz - Editor's
note - I asked the owners, Liz and Terry, to write their experience of
their own resort. Here's just a bit of what they gave me. alan
We find it particularly rewarding that all our guests fall in love with
the hotel and the location, and when they leave they tell us it is one of
the best vacations they have ever had. Our property is located on a wonderful
sandy beach and has many tall palm trees. It is a very peaceful serene setting.
We have been busy upgrading the hotel and making minor changes in an effort
to enhance what we started with.
Our goal is to keep the hotel as a small
intimate resort with personalized service. We enjoy helping the guests plan
their tours and activities, as well as socializing with them at the beachfront
bar. The staff have become friends with repeat guests and look forward to
their return each year. All our friends and family thought we were moving to the tropics and spending
our days sitting on the beach under a palm tree with a tropical drink in
our hands. Now that most of them have visited us, they realize this is far
from the truth. We are enjoying what we are doing and love where we are living.
We are very pleased that we made the decision we did and invite everyone
to come down and visit with us and explore Belize.
Editor's note - trying something new for us - Liz and Terry have provided
me with a few letters from previous guests - I was going to type them in,
but I realized that I liked how they looked as much as what they said - so
I'm scanning them in - just click on the thumbnail images below to see and
read them. - alan
